Facebook Permissions Changes End Feep

The Feep app is no more and has not been in the Android Market for a long time.  This type of app became impossible after bad folks started exploiting Facebook Permissions, such as with the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.

From the beginning Feep was meant to offer a better way to view your Facebook posts and interact with your friends on your Android phone, providing an alternative to the Facebook mobile app and widgets. Feep never spammed anyone or used data in a bad way like the exploitive apps that caused Facebook to shutdown access needed for Feep to work.  Facebook was naive about how their platform could be exploited by opening up permissions, but I believe the company was trying to allow for innovation with apps like Feep.

Unfortunately, because Facebook got burned so badly by these exploits they completely reversed course and heavily locked down the platform.  I hope that someday Facebook will create a trusted partner program, allowing apps like Feep to be verified as trusted and access the same information as the official Facebook client.  If that happens I will polish up and reintroduce Feep to the market!
